The Multi-Use Pathway

The flat, groomed trails make for an enjoyable ride for both professionals and novices. The multiuse pathway is an eight-mile paved single-lane path designed for bikers, rollerblades, and walkers. The route stretches from Jackson Hole to Antelope Flats Road and then from Teton Park Road to South Jenny Lake. Whether you’re looking to take on the entire path or just a portion, it’s an excellent option for everyone.

Stay Safe During Your Grand Teton Bike Ride

Cyclists must follow the same rules as other motorized vehicles. For their safety, bicycles should stay only on the designated paths. During the fall, this is especially important due to the increased wildlife activity.

Be sure to be adequately prepared for your bike ride. Wear a helmet at all times. Dress in warm layers that you can take off and put on as the temperature changes. Leave your headphones at home so you can properly communicate with other motorists. Depending on when you choose to head out, make sure your bike is outfitted with LED lights or reflectors.

Seasonal Road Closures in Grand Teton National Park

While fall is a great time for biking in Grand Teton National Park, it’s also the start of seasonal road closures in the area. As the temperatures get colder and snow, ice, and wildlife threaten travelers journeying through the park, roads become impassable for cars. Look out for these annual road closures while you explore the diverse wildlife and terrain by bike!

Annual Closures

  • Teton Park Road– Closes between Taggart Lake Trailhead and Signal Mountain Lodge from November 1st and April 30th.
  • Moose-Wilson Road– From Death Canyon Road to Granite Canyon Trailhead is closed to between November 1st and mid-May.

Luckily the paved multiuse pathways are available for bike use whenever the path is mostly free of slippery precipitation.
