Located at the south end of Jackson Hole Valley, Jackson is a city that stands as the ultimate playground for outdoor adventure seekers. Cradled by two popular National Parks, Grand Teton and Yellowstone, plus home to world-class ski resorts, Jackson is a popular year-round destination. With so much to do, it can be hard to narrow it down if you only have a few days to explore. So, we’ve put together a three-day weekend itinerary to Jackson Hole to help get you started.
Day one
Check into your room at the Huff House Inn and talk with our on-site concierge who will help get your weekend started. Leave your bags and worries behind and head out to start exploring the last of the Old West in Jackson Hole.

Upon your arrival take some time to get acquainted with the town of Jackson Hole and visit the Town Square and downtown. Shop the streets of downtown featuring many retail stores, outdoor outfitters, and art galleries. Be sure to also add a bit of culture to your excursion with a visit to the National Museum of Wildlife Art and catch a live show at the Jackson Hole Center for the Arts.
Finish the day with a steak dinner at the local’s favorite, Snake River Grill. Cap it off with a visit to one of the most famous bars, the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar to get a taste of the Wild West. Enjoy a leisurely five-minute walk back home at the Huff House Inn where you will rest up for a full day of action tomorrow.
Day two
Wake up in the morning to a delicious breakfast at the Huff House. Or try one of the many coffee shops and cafes in town to begin your day! Grab a sandwich or salad to go at Persephone Bakery before heading out for your mountain adventure to Grand Teton National Park. Located just five miles from town, a day at the National Park is easily enjoyed with plenty of time to get back for another night out on the town.

Spanning 310,000 acres there is plenty to see inside the park including alpine lakes, lush valleys, rugged peaks, and historic landmarks, all to complete a perfect day in the mountains. The National Park is a year-round destination offering everything from snowshoeing and skiing to hiking and fishing.
Easy things to do in a day include the scenic 42-mile drive along Teton Park Road, a hike a Jenny Lake, a scenic lake cruise across Jackson Lake, or hike one of the trails that leave from Colter Bay Village. Be sure to also take a stroll along the lakeshore to take in views of the Teton Range reflecting on Jackson Lake.
Do note, during the winter months the park visitor centers and ranger stations close and re-open in March-May.
Day three
On your last day, snag brunch at one of the hottest brunch spots in town including The Bunnery Bakery & Restaurant or Café Genevieve. Once you’ve fueled yourself for the day hit the road and explore the area’s other National Park, Yellowstone. The south entrance rests roughly 60 miles north of Jackson and another 20 miles to the West Thumb on the western shore of Yellowstone Lake.
While there is a lot to do, and seeing everything would require several days, it’s important to have a game plan of your hot spots at the top of your list. Some of the top attractions include Old Faithful, the most famous erupting geyser, Midway Geyser Basin, and the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River.

If you don’t feel like making the drive for your last day, stay closer to town and visit the National Elk Refuge, or visit year-round at Snow King Mountain Resort. In the summer fish or raft the Snake River or explore one of the many biking trails in town. The possibilities are endless!
End your three-day weekend itinerary to Jackson Hole with a relaxing evening at the Huff House Inn in our garden patio. Complete with a fire pit and hot tub, no matter if it’s summer or winter, makes for the perfect place to recap your adventures in Jackson Hole!
